iiSU Alpha 0.0.7.4 - Mizu and Media

This update comes with an overhaul to every menu and major UI component in iiSU.

We're excited to be making iiSU Alpha 7.4 publicly available today. We're introducing a more polished look to each page and menu to allow you to more easily manage your device. The full list of changes include:

New Features

  • Carousel Mode: This transforms XMB horizontally, allowing you to scroll games with wider art previews.

  • Dynamic Borders: Added platform frames for game and Android artwork, with global, platform, and game-level settings, gradients, logo overlays, crop/blur framing, and artwork recentering.

  • Custom UI and selection gradient colors: Allows for light and dark mode color tuning to each part of the UI.

  • Recent Achievement widget: Added a Home widget for the latest account achievement, with account, loading, empty, and unavailable states.

  • Cinematic browsing: Added animated title-art movement and background transitions while browsing XMB-style game lists.

  • Automatic backups: Added scheduled backups, selectable destinations, manual backup, status reporting, and restore-latest actions.

  • Home music library: Added eight bundled tracks, reusable custom-music imports, scheduled track selection, and shuffle.

  • Custom launch commands: Added per-console Android launch-command overrides for unsupported emulator configurations.

  • Per-page navigation pinning: Added separate navigation-bar pinning for Home, Apps, Platforms, Games, and RetroAchievements.

Improvements and Overhauls

  • Manage Media: Redesigned the existing workflow, improved speed, and clarified source, preview, overwrite, fill-missing, delete, media-slot, and artwork-shape controls.

  • Scraping: Reworked game and console scraping menus, improved resume behavior, added connection warnings, shortened manual searches, and reduced work on large libraries. IGDB was removed; ScreenScraper, SteamGridDB, and TheGamesDB remain.

  • RetroAchievements library: Redesigned the RetroAchievements tab for a rich card experience. Popups now show detailed achievements data, pressing Select opens in a browser.

  • Theme editor: Redesigned the existing light/dark and Home/second-screen media editor, with clearer import, delete, resolution, and optimization controls.

  • App drawer: Rebuilt the existing drawer as a faster popup with recents.

  • Context menus: Reorganized Game, App, Console, Platform, and Home actions into clearer groups with more consistent sizing and focus behavior.

  • Collections: Rebuilt collection browsing as a focused popup, added clearer ordering labels, and improved create/delete feedback.

  • Layout selection: Added light/dark previews and clearer names for Standard, Carousel, and XMB layouts.

  • Artwork presentation: Improved title art, backgrounds, slideshows, multiple media slots, aspect handling, and image sharpness across browsing layouts.

  • Home widgets: Improved the Android-widget picker with search, application icons, and clearer no-provider/no-match states.

  • Home soundbites: Added clearer enablement and volume controls and improved handoff with Home music.

  • Library scanning: Added clearer scan-depth controls, storage issue summaries, and optional Android file-access guidance.

  • Diagnostics: Improved startup problem capture, storage warnings, recovery feedback, and advanced performance reporting.
